Briagolong Film Festival - June 2015
5-7 June 2015 long weekend
In 2014, Michèle Adler, family and friends cycled the Stuart Highway from Tenant Creek to Darwin (~1000 km) to celebrate the centenary of Ted Ryko’s (Michèle’s grandfather) epic ride from Adelaide to Darwin in 1914 (~3000 km).
Rod McMillan, as part of the back-up crew, filmed the re-ride event and presented a short documentary, Ryko's Ride, at the Briagolong Film Festival. The film weaves together the re-ride of 2014 with Ted’s record-breaking ride of 1914. The film and the Q&A session were very well received by the enthusiastic audience.
Also presented at the Festival was UK film-maker Joe Morgan's short film, A Good and Faithful Servant, which was shot at Peach Flat, Briagolong.
